Comes from the official Festival Playlist reward list. The Treasure Hunt is on that same list and pays 100,000 credits, with no car against it, in all 3 of the 3 Series 3 weeks one outlet published a full table for. What a chest pays
- None of the 3 Series 3 weeks we have a table for asked for a particular car. TheXboxHub prints a
Car:field against each Playlist challenge, and on those hunt rows it readsNo RestrictionorAny. - The hunt hands back 100,000 credits and 3 points, and no car. Cars are priced in points on a separate list.
- Treasure Cars are a different feature from the Treasure Hunt. Enough people conflate them that players explain the difference to each other on forums.
Which car you need, according to the one field that prints it
The weekly guides we cite elsewhere on this site describe where the chest is and stop there. TheXboxHub’s weekly Playlist tables carry a Car: column for each challenge, which is the only place we have found the question “can I drive anything” answered in print rather than left to be inferred. Here is that column for the Series 3 weeks we could fetch.
| Week | Region | Car | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Series 3, Summer | Nangan | No Restriction | 100,000 CR, 3 pts |
| Series 3, Autumn | Ine | no hunt this week | — |
| Series 3, Winter | Hokubu | Any | 100,000 CR, 3 pts |
| Series 3, Spring | Takashiro | Any | 100,000 CR, 3 pts |
So across the 3 Series 3 weeks we have a table for, not one named a car. That is a much smaller claim than "the treasure hunt never restricts cars" and it is the only one these sources carry: one outlet, one series, three weeks. Whether the field is ever used to name a car in a series we have not read, we do not know.
Worth knowing where this page is careful, because it has been wrong here before. An earlier version of the site listed “Blue Wristband” as a prerequisite on the Hokubu hunt. Fetching the two articles it cited and searching them returned zero hits for the phrase. It was an invention wearing a citation. Every prerequisite in our archive has read blank since, and this page states an absence rather than filling it.
Which car you get, and why that is the wrong question
Nothing. Searches for FH6 treasure hunt cars mostly want this answer and rarely get it stated. The hunt pays credits and points. Every one of the 31 cars in the index above is bought with points on the Festival Playlist’s own priced list, which is why searching that index can never return a car sourced from a hunt: the two are different columns of the same official page.
The connection is real but indirect, and it is worth stating precisely because the vague version is what most pages leave you with. A hunt gives you 3 points. A season car costs 20 or 40 in the current series. So a hunt is a fraction of a car, never a car, and how large a fraction is worth its own arithmetic.
Treasure Cars are a different thing with a similar name
Treasure Cars are not the Treasure Hunt. We are not going to document how they work, because we have not found a source solid enough to do it from. What we can show is one instance of the two being told apart. On GTPlanet, Forza Horizon 6 general discussion, KILLER2JZ answered someone with:
“Treasure cars are abandoned cars you find around the map like barn finds basically but you find them parked up and need fixing up”
A forum member rather than a first-party source, so treat it as orientation and not documentation. One exchange is not evidence that the confusion is widespread, only that it happened once and someone thought it worth answering. If you came here looking for abandoned cars parked around the map, that is a different feature and nothing on this site covers it.
One of those four weeks had no hunt in it
The Autumn week of Italian Exotics ran a collectible instead: Collectables, "Tanks for the Coffee": smash 20 Tank Latte collectables in the Ine region, for the Karaoke emote. We had that week marked as hunt-free before finding this table, from a different source, and the two agree. We will not call that independent confirmation: two write-ups agreeing does not establish that neither drew on the other, or that both did not draw on the same upstream. It is one more source saying the same thing, which is worth having and is not proof.
It also means the honest denominator on this page is 3, not four. A page that quietly counted the collectible week as a hunt with no car requirement would have a bigger number and a worse claim.
Questions that lead people to search for hunt cars
- Do you need a specific car to do the Treasure Hunt in FH6?
- No, in every week we have a published table for. TheXboxHub lists each Playlist challenge with a "Car:" field, and for the Series 3 Treasure Hunts that field reads "No Restriction" or "Any" — three weeks, both spellings, never a car. Our own archive leaves the prerequisite blank on every entry for the same reason: no source states one. An earlier version of this site did print a prerequisite there, and it came out when the cited articles were fetched and searched and the words were not in them.
- What car do you get from a Treasure Hunt in FH6?
- None. The hunt pays 100,000 credits, and by two outlets' count 3 Festival Playlist points. Cars come from the Playlist's priced reward list, which charges points — so a hunt moves you a little way toward a car without ever being the source of one.
- What are Treasure Cars in Forza Horizon 6?
- A different feature, and the confusion is common enough that players explain it to each other. On GTPlanet one described them as "Treasure cars are abandoned cars you find around the map like barn finds basically but you find them parked up and need fixing up". That is a forum member rather than a first-party source, so we use it only to establish that the two things are separate, and we do not document how Treasure Cars work here — we have not found a source good enough to.
- Which cars are Festival Playlist rewards in FH6?
- 31 of them across Series 1 to 3, each with a point price attached, from 15 up to 500. The index at the top of this page is that list, searchable by name. Every entry in it is a Playlist reward, which is the point: search it for any car and the answer to "does this come from a Treasure Hunt" is no.
- Was there a week with no Treasure Hunt at all?
- Yes. In the Italian Exotics Autumn week the Playlist ran a collectible instead: Collectables, "Tanks for the Coffee": smash 20 Tank Latte collectables in the Ine region, for the Karaoke emote. Our archive had that week flagged as having no hunt before we found this table, and the table is an independent confirmation of it, with a name for what ran instead.
- Can I use any car for the Photo Challenge too?
- We do not know, and this page will not guess. The tables we read cover every Playlist challenge with its own Car field, so the answer is knowable, but we have only checked the rows for the Treasure Hunt and the week that replaced it. Checking the rest is worth doing and is not done.

- Not sourced, and not written: how Treasure Cars work, whether the other Playlist events restrict cars in weeks we did not read, and whether any Series 1 or 2 hunt named a car — we only have published tables for Series 3.
